Ugly Duckling

Sometimes things can be so ugly that they are pretty. These are one of those things. Merci Monsieur Louboutin.

A Few Of My Favorite Things

Proenza Schouler: It's part moccasin, part ’70s disco, and part Wild Pair (you know that store in the suburbs where you use to get your wacky shoes... don't front). It's hard to find a shoe that is both quirky and wearable, but this duo always finds it easy to mesh the two together.

Christian Louboutin for 3.1 Phillip Lim: Can the man do any wrong? Yes, he can. But this season for the 3.1 Phillip Lim collection, Louboutin was all right.

Derek Lam: I'm not really fond of his clothing, but Lam always seems to have pretty good shoes—sturdy shoes that you always (well I always) want in the closet. These boots—while rugged and a bit tomboyish—are perfect for sprucing up any drab outfit. In fact, I already have a ton of outfits that I can wear them with. In fact, I just need these boots. They are so chocolate-ty and rich and enticing. These are definitely on my list of important things to get. I hate when I can't have something ASAP, but I've already planned my life around it.

Derek Lam: How cute?

Lady Luck

I would not consider myself a lady. I mean, I guess people can call me a lady but I am not ladylike—nothing about me is ultra feminine. I don't like bows, a can do without pink, and I never know which fork to start with when at a dinner table (something that my mother cringes at, but hey it's her fault that she never reprimanded me when I was wrong). I have these lady-that-lunch shoes and whenever I put them on I feel like I should curl my hair, put on a dress that hits below the knee, and write on my own stationary to write thank you notes. But I think the reason why I like them is because they are pony hair and they're CL's. I also like them because they have a tassel. I've worn them once thus far. I bet I'll wear them a lot when I'm 45.

Iron Ireland

The other day my friend reminded me of a trip I took. The trip was to Ireland and she told me that my vacation pictures were probably the best she ever saw. I was flattered. And because of this I am posting some pics of the green country today, tomorrow, or whenever I feel like it. I will try to relate it to shoes. Sometimes you will see the comparison, sometimes you will see I'm pulling at strings and full of shit.(The only relation to these pics and these Christian Louboutin for Marchesa shoes is that the shoes are black and also have flesh peeking out behind the material holding the foot back. Real Deep.) But just take in the beauty of the pictures, they are truly breathtaking. I love it when I compliment myself.

PYT

Pretty girls are delicate. You can't mess with them too much or they'll cry. You have to hug them, kiss them, and tell them they are beautiful so they don't annoy you.

GImme More

Sluts are cool... when you aren't one of them. When I was younger I remember thinking that sluts were the girls that wore high heels. Especially those that were a platform, mesh infused, lucite decorated, or a skinny heel. Sluts never wore flats or sneakers (In my head). I now wear high-heels, and so according to my seventh grade theory... I am a slut. Anyway, when I saw these Christian Louboutin heels at the Marchesa presentation I thought, well, nothing but slut. But this slut was sophisticated and knew what she wanted. Not like those sluts that take whatever they can get. This Louboutin wearing tramp—let's call her Amelie—had on a pair of platform heels, lined with white leather, and a base of mesh in a beige hue. They had all the slut elements of a shoe, and I love them.

About Me

Addiction is never a good thing, but sometimes it's just what you need in order to make you happy. In my case, my shoe addiction has consumed every aspect of my life. I wonder about shoes constantly, conjure up styles that don't even exist, go crazy over anything from bougie heels to lowbrow knockoffs, drool over any stylish concoctions, and fawn over my ludicrous collection, which you will see through my weird photoshoot. (I will also showcase some heels on other peoples feet.) I am secretly an Imelda Marcos hater who does not like cheese.
