A Few Of My Favorite Things

Today was a lazy day. A day where I just looked at things around my room and tried on things that I have not worn in the longest. These boots are not one of those not-been-worn boots. These boots are one of my favorites—Emma Cook for Top Shop. They are the perfect mix of rugged, height (the heel is nice and thick), and look nothing like anything in my closet. I use to dream about these boots. Seriously, I tried getting them over seas and whenever I found a pair they were either too small or too big. My fairy godmother (which is a friend who works in the right place) came along and granted me with the gift of these Top Shop booties. No joke, one night I even slept in them because I was so excited and so honored that I had them! I know you are probably rolling your eyes reading this, but that is the truth. So on this Sunday afternoon, I slip them on and am chillin out. Sometimes the best shoes in your collection are not the ones that cost so much, but the ones that you can't live without. These boots I can't live without.

Ten Hut

When I was in Mexico City I fell in love. And when it was time for me to leave, I didn't want to go. When I went to a museum I saw a group of men (Army men) running up the hill in tandem. They were all in green, and their tan skin against the hue, well, looked amazing. I miss Mexico City. When I saw these boots on my friend Barbara, for some reason I was reminded of those dudes in Mexico City. With all the military style garb being popular this season, everything I see reminds me of the army and utilitarian pieces.  The trend can be seen in many designers collection such as Balmain, Chloe, Max Mara, Marc Jacobs, and many others. Barbara's boots are a mix of camo and animal print making them pretty cool. Barbara feels like G I  Jane when she wears these Rachel Comey boots. She should go to Mexico City and run with the boys.

This Type of Girl.....

...wears these types of shoes—statement platforms. Shoe's you can't walk in. But shoes you look good in. Shoes that hurt your damn feet at the end of the night. But shoes you will surely take off (or keep on depending on the kind of slut you are) when you are fucking that guy you brought home that night. Oh, Angie.

She's A Stud

This is the memo for Spring 2010: You are only allowed to have one item that has  studs on it. Not two or three, but one. That being said let's move on. There are so many other things (embellishments) to discover. We can do it.

Iron Ireland

The other day my friend reminded me of a trip I took. The trip was to Ireland and she told me that my vacation pictures were probably the best she ever saw. I was flattered. And because of this I am posting some pics of the green country today, tomorrow, or whenever I feel like it. I will try to relate it to shoes. Sometimes you will see the comparison, sometimes you will see I'm pulling at strings and full of shit.(The only relation to these pics and these Christian Louboutin for Marchesa shoes is that the shoes are black and also have flesh peeking out behind the material holding the foot back. Real Deep.) But just take in the beauty of the pictures, they are truly breathtaking. I love it when I compliment myself.

Name Games

Hipster Fuck, hipster fuck, everyones a hipster fuck... including me. I'm not that bad with it, but I must admit there are times when I get embarrassed for myself for looking so ridiculous. Sometimes when I see people outfitted in the gear—it looks like they purchased a hipster kit and followed the instructions from beginning to end—I wonder What Were They Like Two Years Ago? I met Natalie at a party. Really nice girl but so affected. I mean when she introduced herself to me she pronounced her name Nha-tha-lee. (Um,  you are not from France and your name is spelled just as it should be pronounced.) She was telling stories of hanging in Williamsburg with some indie bands, her hair cut was asymmetrical, every item of clothing had studs on it, and she claimed she skated. The whole time I smiled, but inside I was dying.

Boys Will Be Boys

Remember when you were younger and thought boys smelled? Well, they did and they still kinda do. But now you can withstand the smell because you want them to kiss you and touch you in places that your mom told you were off limits, a "no-no." Anyway, I do love when guys wear sneakers. I use to love when they sported Air Jordan's (and deep down inside I still do), but these says a simple canvas kick will do. I like Vans boat shoes. They are cute, nerdy, and stylish without being too trendy. Ryan has on a blue pair, Chet has on Chukka boot originals, and Chester has on Half Cab originals. These boys are dirty, but I kinda like that.....whore.

Animal Collective meets Victorian Vicky

Bitches be straight trippin' in the winter. I'm just playing. I saw this girl Loretta on 34th street the other week. She looked cool, but had such a stank face. I couldn't tell if her stank face was because she was on 34th street, or because she hated that I was following her around like a little puppy trying to get a her attention. So I asked her about her boots, to which she ignored me. I then ask again, "Hey, where did you get your boots from? She replied, "Um, a vintage store." I say, "What vintage store?" She replied, "In the city somewhere." I say, "Oh, which city? New York City? If that's the case what store?" She replied, "Yeah, the city." I then answer, "Thanks bitch. Nice shoes."

Sporty Spice

Remember we saw these awesome shoes on that girl in the cafe last fashion week? Well, this time we see these Band Of Outsiders on this girl Lauren. Lauren usually wears weird outfits, but somehow the outfits always look good and are always—dare I say this word—progressive. Lauren also loves to dye her hair, hate on idiots, create charts about people lives, ballet, cats, cows, and cutting people off from her bb'm. Not only is Lauren wearing these bad ass shoes, but take notice of her socks... very A. Wangish, but made way better. (I think she said a slave, oh, i mean an intern made them.) Lauren I can't wait to see one of your weird outfits during fashion week. The Asian publications go wild for her. "Can we take picture? So cool."

That Girl Is Poison

I found this picture on another blog and couldn't stop staring at it. How cute is this girl? How chic is little Pria? Found walking around with her mother on the streets on Paris, Pria seems a bit annoyed and uncomfortable taking this picture. Why? Because as she puts it in a baby voice, "Truly chic people don't need to be photographed in order to get noticed or appreciated. I know you like my silver shoes and heart stockings and find it interesting that I would pair the two together. We live our lives under the radar even though we are constantly being seeked out. My mother made me do this."

Dapper Dan

Dan Robertson knows how to dress. There is no outfit that is half ass. There are only tens in his book. He takes the subway not because he has to, but because it is a more efficient way to get around NYC.
As he waits for the train, he knows I'm watching and therefor he strikes a pose: right leg straight, left leg cocked at 10:00, messenger bag perfectly situated below the hip, arms holding a Starbucks coffee. Damn he's good. And it wasn't the crazy fur coat that caught my eye. Instead it was his swagger on the platform. This mutha' fucker owns NYC, and he knows it.

Check out the shoes. Keep your pimp hand strong Dan.

Charlie Nobody over here wishes he was Dapper Dan. Notice how Dan keeps his distance.

Dan makes me want to slap somebody. I know this blog is about shoes but sometimes you can't deny the power of a Power Dresser. Some people from Staten Island really know how to put it down.

A New Day, A New Time

It's a new day. Sorry i have not been on my posting game or my weird photoshoot game, but it was the holidays and I had to eat, con people into getting me great gifts, drink more than I already do, and smile.
Honestly, the holidays are my favorite time of year. I love being with family and friends and I love trying to be nice for once. It's a good exorcise to try and start the New Year right. And it lasts until around January 15th, when you realize, "Wow, my ass is fat as hell from eating so much," or "I never really liked that bitch so why am I starting now." But as long as I tried... then I'm happy. I hope all of you had a great Holiday. I will begin posting more Amazing stories... just as soon as I come up from my over indulgence coma.

About Me

Addiction is never a good thing, but sometimes it's just what you need in order to make you happy. In my case, my shoe addiction has consumed every aspect of my life. I wonder about shoes constantly, conjure up styles that don't even exist, go crazy over anything from bougie heels to lowbrow knockoffs, drool over any stylish concoctions, and fawn over my ludicrous collection, which you will see through my weird photoshoot. (I will also showcase some heels on other peoples feet.) I am secretly an Imelda Marcos hater who does not like cheese.
